1950s

Our entrepreneurial heritage originated in 1950s in Pakistan when Syed Manzoor Hussain Shah spearheaded transformative initiatives by cultivating the first commercial scale farm comprising California’s King Willow “Kinnow” citrus variety on ancestral agricultural land in Sargodha, Pakistan. This successful pioneering effort laid the groundwork for a legacy of innovative market development for others to follow – rapidly transforming the region into a globally acclaimed citrus hub.

1960s

Through 1960s, we experienced rapid expansion under the young and dynamic leadership of the founder’s son Syed Mehr Hassan (1940-1973) by diversifying into value creating business derivations such as exporting citrus produce from our pioneering high yield citrus farm to neighboring international markets via land routes.

On the other end of the trade equation, we imported and pioneered the first ever integration of advanced European agricultural machinery in Sargodha division – developing a 250 acre greenfield land into a high yield wheat farm, thereby laying the blueprint for agricultural mechanization in Central Punjab when land cultivation in the region still followed Ox-driven primeval methods;

By end of the decade, we had further expanded into wheat flour milling by setting up two (02) new Flour & General Mills establishments in the district of Okara, Pakistan.

1970s

The advent of 1970s saw our expansive diversification into agricultural machinery manufacturing sector. We supported Pakistan’s nascent tractor manufacturing industry by our tractor chassis importing business via a joint venture partnership; demonstrating acumen for bridging market gaps and near-core business diversification with impactful solutions.

Following a sudden leadership crisis on passing away of Syed Mehr Hassan in 1973 at the young age of 33; further complicated by the highly unfavorable business environment created in Pakistan at the time by the Nationalization programme, our industrial and trading business shrank considerably – prompting a de-investment decision and relegating our operations to mechanized agriculture by end of 1970s.

1980s – 2000s

The start of 1980s marked a major pivot in our story when Dr. Naseem Bukhari (c.1954 – 2022), the daughter of Syed Manzoor Hussain Shah established a reputable healthcare institution focusing on maternity and infant care. Mehr Hassan Memorial Hospital went on to serve the community for three decades, whilst strongly upholding the highest ethical standards lead by exemplary resilience, dedication and compassion of Dr. Naseem Bukhari.

In addition to contributions to Sargodha’s healthcare, she also revived and maintained minor stake in the export of locally produced citrus, leather goods and handmade carpets through establishment of a sole proprietorship named Fatima Enterprises in 1990s.

2010s

In 2010, this heritage of innovation, resilience and adaptability laid the groundwork for our re-emergence as an international trading enterprise based in United Arab Emirates (U.A.E.) – serving the upstream petroleum sector in the oilfield materials space. In doing so, we have gained insightful knowledge of developing robust international supply chains and trans-regional business development partnerships.

The Present

By the year 2020, we had well understood the changing business eco-system under the scenario of global climate change and therefore realized the need to once again re-align our business model with a world rapidly moving towards new energy.

Today, we stand fully committed to the urgency of scaling up renewable energy, energy storage and industrial decarbonization. We have reimagined business model on the lines of a lean, modern physical commodities trading embedded with active risk management strategies. Our products and services portfolio is increasing aligned to clean & green energy. We are ready to play an impactful role in accelerating energy transition and achieving climate action goals.
